  On September 15, New York governor Andrew Como announced an emergency executive order banning the sale of flavored e-cigarettes.The New York governor's office said the executive order aims to eliminate deceptive e-cigarette marketing to underage users and raise the glass pipes purchase age to 21 from 18 before the legislation.

  "The makers of fruit and candy e-cigarettes deliberately and recklessly appeal to young people, and today we are taking action to stop that behavior," the governor's office said in a statement.Meanwhile, illegal shops that try to sell e-cigarettes to minors are stepping up enforcement and will be arrested and prosecuted.

  New York state police will work with the department of health to investigate under the juvenile tobacco use prevention act, according to the statement.Under the executive order, retailers found selling tobacco and e-tobacco products to minors will face criminal penalties as well as civil penalties.In addition, COMO said the new executive order would take effect in two weeks and crack down on businesses that sell e-cigarettes to minors.
